It was there first time to have Karaoke. And our first time to visit. The food was delicious. Especially the grilled asparagus. The banana split was amazing but they forgot to add the banana...lol.....so I had a VARIETY SUNDAE... it was DELICIOUS, especially the pineapple.... maybe they could market it as a sundae boat.A very friendly family atmosphere. We definitely intend to go back. The locals were all a pleasure. The family with the twins were extremely nice and friendly to us . With the ability to get in a few minutes shopping time was a definite plus. Some great items at more than reasonable prices. ....if they hadn't forgotten the banana in the split they would have received a full 5 across the board... ..the fact that we both had a meal dessert and a generous tip at 40.00 you bet we will go again.

We were out and about just killing time and came across this charming place. Its had a cozy welcome home kind of feeling my husband ordered the Catfish Fillet Dinner and I ordered the Country Fried Steak Dinner. We always go out to eat on fridays and it's been the same ole same ole. Either to much MSG in the food or they dont take as much pride in it as they once did. However this place was worth the stop and ride. Its probaly about 20min from Tallapoosa and the service was wonderful as well. Both my husband and I absolutely loved it. We are skeptics when it comes to certain foods such as slaw and catfish and cabbage different people like it different ways. But here it's as if they knew exactly how we liked it. All of it was delicious. Rite down to the cole slaw which my husband usally dont care for but really liked it. And he loved the catfish. He said he hasnt had catfish that good in a very long long time. He even went and told the chef what a great job she had done on it. My country fried steak was delicious as well. I enjoyed it all. So with out a doubt we give this resturant 20 stars plus. So if your tired of the same ole boring places you been eating and you have a taste for some country cooking with great service give this place a try. You wont regret it. It's well worth the ride.

Stopped here for supper, not dinner (dinner is lunch). Almost sat in Orvell Kerr’s reserved seat, but glad I didn’t as he came in after us. Super nice fellow who’s obviously there pretty often for them to save him a seat. This place is like going back in time, and judging from the ashtrays on the tables, I think you can still light up a smoke without having to go out on the porch. If you want to experience small town Alabama like it was circa 1974, stop in and see the fine folks at the Fruithurst General Store and Family Restaurant. If they treat you like they treated us, you’ll feel right at home!

Nice and friendly service and atmosphere at this general store makes you feel like part of the family and they are very helpful and really friendly and know where and what you are looking for and if they don't sell it if they know someone else who does sell it they will tell you and they are the best mds products and their products are stuff I have never seen before and they are low price so I like shopping here

Great place to eat and really friendly staff. There are a variety of things going on under one roof which makes it even better in my opinion. They have regular convenience store items, furniture, family restaurant, e-bikes, electronics, etc...but they do not have gas pumps so you will need to go to Romas or back towards town.

Ten stars! Wonderful place! Very friendly staff and a clean, rustic, downhome feel to the restaurant. Fresh sweet tea. (Smooth, not bitter/ old tasting). I got the catfish (fresh, crispy, flakey), with fried squash and green beans. My hubby got a cheesesteak and fries. The verdict: Somebody's Meemaw is back there cooking, y'all! We are just driving through , it was a blessing experiencing this gem of a restaurant, though. Btw: The restaurant is adjacent to the post office/ general store.

Has everything you need from boiled peanuts to worms for fishing. Visit the restaurant for great food and friendly service. Had the western omelet on Saturday morning and the chicken with stuffing and gravy special on Sunday. Loved it all!
